The 106th issue of 8-Track Mind Magazine is as fresh and strange as the zine was during its 1990s prime. Within: comic book blood-drinking bombshell Vampirella, U.S. immigration policy and 8-tracks, vice presidential candidate Tim Walz's endorsement of 8-track tapes, taking a John Wayne spoken-word 8-track to the charter oak model for Connecticut's state quarter, and a tribute to 8TM founding member Gordon Van Gelder.
My personal highlight is editor Russ Forster's tribute to the great punk producer and musician Steve Albini, sweetly recounting the time they spent together in the '80s and '90s Chicago music scene.
