Seeing Polka Dot Dot Dot play often makes me think that it doesn’t get much better. Defying genres (folk or pop labels don’t do them justice) and appealing to just about everybody (much like the members themselves), their advanced hand-clap games, barrage of interesting instruments, and slyly profound lyrics have earned them a fan base all across the U.S. and has made them indie pop stars in New Zealand.
Not only is Syzygy a great album, but it’s beautifully screenprinted and the lyric book folds out into a poster of the Polka Dots.
