Deadpan and vulnerable, grounded and surreal, Sara Renberg's indie-pop songs are small worlds that envelop and surprise. Night Sands, her second full-length, is a record about the desire for and fear of intimacy; about being 32, gay, and single. The album's story-songs are funny and sad, grounded and surreal, nodding to artists like the Silver Jews, Liz Phair, Frankie Cosmos, and the Mountain Goats.

Cover art by Liana Jegers. Recorded by Adam Lee at Jackpot Studios. On smokey-tint cassettes.

Released on Antiquated Future Records. Listen on Bandcamp.

Sara Renberg- Roger Miller Baby

The latest from Portland's Yaara Valey (formerly Indira Valey). No Me Tengas Miedo is an EP of textural surprises and casual wizardry. Four soundscape pieces that exist in the realm of artists like Julianna Barwick, Juana Molina, and Grouper.

Released on Antiquated Future Records and Spirit House. Limited edition second printing. Listen on Bandcamp.

"No Me Tengas Miedo feels in many ways like an exercise in surrender. It lulls us into an uncertain serenity, not tranquilized but clear-headed, before pulling us into a strange world with unfamiliar boundaries. It's a transportive work, and one that you'll find calling you back when you least expect it." - Thrdcoast

Colleen Johnson (of Silver Shadows), Evan Hashi (of Little Angry), and Preston Bryant (of AJJ) combine to make angular post-punk synthy dream-pop ecstasy.

"a near-perfect rock record" - Justin Spicer, Tiny Mix Tapes' Cerberus

"Sporting the usual angularity of post-punk's guitar lineage, they add in various other rhythmic elements until the mix is so wonderfully disparate that influences seem to be thrown out the window and the band appears to be operating on pure inspiration." - Joshua Pickard, The Tape Deck

Flying Circles- Diamond Eye

The latest project of Madeline Johnston of Sister Grotto. Together with collaborator Tucker Theodore, Midwife creates dreamy songs that confront raw emotions, haunted soundscapes that get stuck in your head. Following their acclaimed 2017 debut Like Author, Like Daughter, their new Prayer Hands EP delves further, bringing more reverb-drenched anthems of loss.

With a charming deadpan, Portland, Oregon artist Sara Renberg tells absurdist story songs. It's smart, understated indie pop with a sense of humor. Recorded by Ephriam Nagler at K Records' Dub Narcotic Studio.

On blue cassettes with hand-typed lables, insert, and digital download code. Cover art by Martha Grover (SomnambulistOne More for the People).

Released on Antiquated Future Records. Listen on Bandcamp.

"If released a decade and a half ago, indiepop bible Chickfactor would have been all over The Tall Calm...Portland-based Sara Renberg has an observational honesty and surrealness that reminds me of early Magnetic Fields and Stephen Malkmus. Songs aren’t mere moments, they’re epiphanies." - Chiara Grassia, BMA Magazine

Sara Renberg- Assimilation Blues

Psych-folk cabaret from the mind of Olympia composer Jeff Shannon. Surprising arrangements and dream-logic lyrics in soundscapes of uncommon textures. Sinisterly absurd. Infectiously unusual.

Hand-stamped covers with a hand-cut stamp by Jillian Chaplain. Tapes are protected with a (removable) bandage. Paper insert with short poetic-prose essay on the There Will Be Casualties concept (emotional bandages, the armor of habitual protection, a mask of disguise or defense).

Released on Antiquated Future Reccords. Listen on Bandcamp.

"There Will Be Casualties could be considered a document of the death of one part of the self, and the clearing of the path for new life...This is no ordinary consumption of audio or visual material." - Adam Padavano, Cassette Gods

The 12 songs on Through Tough Thoughts serve as postcards from the road. Tales of leaving and returning. Small epics about failure and hope-in-the-face-of-adversity.

Jordan O'Jordan's songwriting has never been more intricate or wise. Lyrical complexity that echoes albums like Joanna Newsom's Have One on Me, Songs: Ohia's The Magnolia Electric Co., and Mirah's Changing Light.

Released on Antiquated Future Records. Listen on Bandcamp.

"Through Tough Thoughts is the plucky antidote to mundane disappointment from a person, community, or society that dares not to see past its own nose." - Tiny Mix Tapes' Cerberus

Jordan O'Jordan- A Lonely Road

Dao Strom’s Traveler’s Ode is an interwoven series of textured, ethereal song-poems. Atmospheric yet weighted, minimalist yet lush, the album combines voice, electronics, piano, guitars, and field recordings from sources such as rivers, sea, jungle, and birds to create a deeply emotive song-cycle that explores themes of displacement, diaspora, and hauntings.

Echoing the work of artists like Tara Jane O'Neil, Grouper, Black Belt Eagle Scout, and Tiny Vipers. Released in conversation with her hybrid poetry-art book, Instrument, on Fonograf Editions.

Released on Antiquated Future Records and Fonograf Editions. The first printing with reversible J-card. Listen on Bandcamp.

The third volume of our Selected Songs series is from former K Records artist and famously relentless tour-er Jason Anderson. What it Was and What We Wanted (Selected Songs 2005-2020) collects 14 songs from across his career--cult hits, B-sides, alternate versions--that combines his Midwestern anthemic rock songs with his emo-folk ballads and folk-punk scorchers. This collection aims to introduce a new set of listeners to Jason's music while simultaneously delighting his long-term fanbase.
